Did I get ripped?

Did I get ripped?
So I recently bought my first motorcycle. It's a 1989 Honda CBR 600F Hurricane. It has 22k on the odo, and runs great. Recently has had a new clutch, new tires, and runs great! The guy I bought it from said I'll need new fork seals sometime, and new brakes sometime within the next year or so. With a nice new jacket, new helmet, boots, and 2 sets of gloves, I got everything for $2150.
He said it's only a 5 speed, and i've ridden it for about 3 weeks before I went to college, and it's definitely a 5 speed. Every review / everything I've seen says it's a 6 speed. what's going on?

RE: Did I get ripped?
the sprocket cover will have numbers cast into it vertical 1-n-2-3-4-5-6. just look near the shifter.
how did you count shifts? did you count from 1st gear, or did you count shifts after 1st gear?i would have to say if you loose a gear, it would not be 6th. more like 1st or second.
nice ride, btw.

RE: Did I get ripped?
[align=left] mine is 1 down, 4 up. Just called the guy who i bought it from, who did a lot of work. said that it's a 5 speed, and even the company he bought the new clutch from said it's a 5-speed.
my dad just checked, and it does read 1-n-2-3-4-5-6. wtf is going on...
