ok so i am pulling apart my clutch becuse i got a new one and while i was at it i figured i would get a new detent spring for a firmer shift. my only question so far is how do i get off the nut that attachest the clutch center to the main shaft in my manual it says somthing like unstake the nut using a drill. i know that to pull it off i put the bike in gear and stand on the rear brake to hole the wheel still which holds the clutch still as well but i need to unstake the nut or what ever that means. any help would be apprecaited

there is an indent on the tip of the shaft where the nut should be crimped into so that it cannot back off. All that simply means is that you need to get that indent off the nut before you can remove it. If you dont, you risk damaging the threads on the shaft, but i never did, I just put the impact on it and took it off, never damaged the threads at all. Make sure you get a new nut as they are 1 time use only. Also when you take the outer clutch out check it for play between the cage and the gear.
