Are you talking about getting the lock-nut off? In this case, I was able to get mine off with just a screwdriver and a torque wrench. I just used the screwdriver to unstake the nut (just hit the bent-in section outwards until it's no longer inside the groove), then threw the bike into gear, got my buddy to stand on the rear brake, then used the wrench to get the nut off. It was pretty simple actually...not more than a couple minutes. My clutch replace took about 20 minutes to do the real work, then about 2 hours to scrape off the old gasket...
If the engine is outside the bike or you're having transmission problems and can't do this, then you'll have to either buy the honda tool or make your own.
