Default Choke issue?

Hi, my bike appears to have an issue with the choke, I haven't stripped it to investigate yet but just wanna know if any of you guys have had a similar problem?

Basically, on a cold morning, I pull the choke arm all the way engaged, it helps the bike start, but feels like its only choking 2 cylinder? My old GSX750F on the choke raised the rev's to around 4/5000rpm very steadily, the CBR seems to stutter loads around the 2500 mark?

Cleaned the carbs lately? That's usually the first step in solving any problem with fuel management. Personally, on my bike, choke usually doesn't raise the rpms a whole lot. My bike has been sitting a week and when I started it today on full choke it ran up to about 3k. Thats pretty high too, usually about 1.5k - 2k (I usually don't use full choke either, about 1/2 to 2/3). How does the bike idle when warm? Are you trying to rev it when the choke is engaged?

Also on the choke; I broke the choke cable and would like to find another, does anyone know where to look for that? The Honda shop can get one but they want like 37 dollars for one. Nahh, I know that I can find one cheaper. Plus, since I broke it I havent had to use the choke at all...go figure?! Still would be nice to have one just in case.

Cant you just buy a universal throttle cable? All you need is a soldering iron and they are damned cheap!

Also, I will have the carbs off soon, I'm just currently rebuilding my KDX200 so I wondered if anyone had any ideas!

Do you have the old sheath from the choke cable? The carb end part is probably universal but I'm not sure about the part that attaches to the handle.

I have seen guys just run a push/pull choke plunger (like from an old car) off the left side of the bike, just a thought.

It should not be revving to 4-5k with the choke on for sure.. the choke is really only needed to help start the engine in colder weather, and should only be engaged for 15-30 seconds after starting. I'm not sure exactly what you mean about the stutter around 2500 rpm. It's possible you might also have an issue with the carburetors being dirty or out of sync.
