Default Cbr600f carb disassembly question

As you can see I've had to do a bit of welding because the bit that holds the float pin in broke off.

Im trying to get ready to drill through it but the brass part where the float needle sits is in the way.

My question is: can that part be removed from the carb? And if so how would I do that? Thanks so much

You need to look at the parts diagram for your year on a sit like partszilla but I believe it does. You probably need to give it a good soaking in a carb cleaner at a minimum.

It can be removed. I just used a socket. I don’t remember the size, but it wasn’t very hard. There is a small filter/screen under there.

I think he's referring to the skinny tube and not the float needle seat. I think it can be removed by heating the body of the carburetor and using a pair of vice-grips to grab the brass tube and unscrewing it. I think the probability of success without damaging the brass tube beyond usability is probably really low. Replacing the carb body with one from ebay is the best bet.

Ya know what, you're absolutely right!

It just doesn't look like it's high enough to interfere with where/how that float pivot pin goes through.

If you look at the two riser things that holds the pin, he had to add some material to the bottom most riser. I'm guessing he needs to clean out the hole a little bit.

Based on the image, I was thinking that it didn't have a hole in it at all anymore. The thin brass tube near the top of the image prevents the pin from being removed out in that direction. So the bottom riser has to be the side it's removed from. It just doesn't look like it has a hole anymore. Given that the pin goes from one side to the other, I don't see how the float needle seat can be in the way. A drill bit would be the exact same diameter as the pin. I guess we'll wait for @3bikes1will to respond.

You may be right. We should start a pool to see which one it is. I'll pop the popcorn while we wait.
