Default CBR F1 gauges (indiglo for F2)

Will the cluster of an F2 fit into an F1, or if not the cluster, the gauge pod set itself (since the f2 reads top speed of 175 and the f1 is 155? I cant remember but I would assume if the speedo from the f2 was wired into the f1, it would read properly because of the winding or whatever in the pod, otherwise if I just put these gauges in, the speedometer would be the only gauge not accurate).

The reason I ask is the lighting on the F1 cluster sucks at night, and the earliest cbr they make reverse glow gauges for is an F2 (http://www.streetracerparts.com/Hond...p/srp-0715.htm) and I think this would look B.A. (bad ***) on my bike, especially at night.

If nobody knows, I will embark on this adventure anyways and post my findings first, and if it works, I will provide instructions!

The speedo is cable driven off the front wheel on the f1. I don't know on the f2. You can get the vapor gauges like diechrome, or the micron race dash with pc interface so you would have all digital readouts.
If the f2 is cable driven and has the same gearing I don't see how it would not work.
Good luck

is the micron race dash for the F1?

oldschool, sorry to burst your bubble, but for the most part 90% of aftermarket stuff was made for the F2 and up. us F1 guys are more into DIY than aftermarket since its not readily available.

sorry, dont know about the gauges, but i know what you mean, the gauges do suck!

speedo on f2 is cable driven but not f3 or later.

the f2 cluster looks like it will fit. it's not like these things get bigger anyways. only thing really to look out for is to make sure the molex connectors on the f2 cluster will plug into the electrical on the f1.

They've got a universal gauge set that you have to wire all in yourself but it looks the same as the other Mychron setups(sorry spelled it wrong the first time). Pretty bad a little unit.

thats a pretty sweet setup. if i were to do something like that i would either make a mold of the stock gauges and fit it in there, or make a mold and make a new casing for that.

Nope, still have to use the universal, but it's bigger, brighter, and has more inputs then the first one I posted.

I came across this on a local forum. Link

I think it looks like it would work well, but I'd like to avoid putting a switch in, so where would be a good spot to splice in to 12V, the headlight?
