I just got a 1989 CBR600 and it has been modified kind of i was just wondering what the assembly is suppose to look like that holds the registration, licesce plate, and light, because i am missing some of it as if it was cut out with a jig saw, thanks

 

ah ha, i had this same problem since mine was cut, i got a replacement which was also vut, give me a sec and ill get one for ya. ok, so i couldnt find a really good one. but i have the diagram for the piece. its for 87 but the same. its basically just a plastic piece that is flat and extends down. the license mounts to it, and the light above. new piece is like $50 from honda. i am just going to get a new one.

thats weird,
the guy i bought my 89 from did the same exact thing,
cut it and mounted it at an angle right behind the seat.
of course that's illegal in arizona because you can't see
the license plate "clearly".... ok.. but i wonder why they cut it?
hmm.
