Another possibly stupid question
I made a thread earlier with a few questions in it, and one of the questions was about the front end being really soft and diving really hard, so last night as i was taking the front wheel off to figure out how to change the fork oil, i ran across the top fork plugs, or plastic screws or whatever you call them, and i saw that theres a air plug under each one like on a tire, so this morning i fired up the air compressor and got some air into each fork and now the front end is as stiff as can be, from the responses i got from my last thread i was under the impression that there was no way to adjust the front shocks, so i guess my question is, is this the same on a factory 1990 cbr, or do i have some other forks on this bike?
Once again sorry its probably a foolish question, im just trying to learn as much as i can about these bikes.

The forks are stock, and if you used a compressor you've probably exceeded the max pressure by a large amount -- 6psi max, it takes like 2 or 3 shots with a hand bicycle pump. I'd bleed them out again before you blow them out, and do it again with a hand pump and low-pressure gauge. 3 psi makes my forks noticeably stiffer.
Oh shoot alright, i need to find a bicycle pump then, so when you say bleed them out are you talking about the fork oil? Also will it do any damage if i exceeded the max pressure if its just sitting in the garage until i get home from work?
No, just let the air out. The recommended range is 0 to 6 psi, so running without any isn't going to hurt it, you'll just be back where you started.
Alright i got a guage from o reillys and got about 5 pounds in each fork, its still kindof soft and squishy (fire away with your dirty jokes) so would the fork oil be the next thing to change? with a heavier weight oil? and then maybe heavier springs?
