Alternate Piston?

Alternate Piston?
Hi,
Has anyone had any experience using an oversized piston other than OEM spec? As I cannot find any OEM or aftermarket options, I may have to look for an alternative. If there is no such option, has anyone tried an F2 motor? ( I understand there may be alot of fabrication, but that's what makes life fun!!)
Thanks,
Mike

RE: Alternate Piston?
You're not lucky, I just threw out a set of 0.25mm O.S. pistons. I didn't know I had them until I got a cylinder block to replace the one I had which had the sleeves in really bad shape, then the OS pistons wouldn't fit. I ended up going back to stock specs and got stock size pistons to go with the block. Before I knew what I had, I was looking for OS pistons too and just couldn't find anything, anywhere. Could've gotten custom fabbed pistons for about $100 a piece. Definately not worth it.
As for the F2 engine fit, you're right, many will agree that it'll take quite some fabbing and a lot of man-hours to do it.
Hope you don't mind me asking, what are you trying to accomplish? Engine re-build w. overbore or just looking for more power?

Did you forget to put the rings back on the piston #2?
J/K, hope you get it fixed, this bike's a lotta fun when running well and the sense of accomplishment undescribable.
As for the compression test, you should only do it when the engine is already warmed up. On a sidenote, you can also loose compression through the valve head, not just pistons.
