Default 2-cond gear problem

Hi there! I have a problem with a second gear! I tried to search the forum, but... Anyway, here is a problem. I have 1990 <maybe... PC23 is 1990, right?> Hurricane. I take it with 2-nd gear not working. It is like I have 2 neutrals. I did not remove and dissasemble gearbox yet. Any advises what to expect? Broken gears ot gearshift fork?
Somewhere i read that this problem is common for Hurricanes, but i can't find that article.

Any help would be in use.

Bent or broken shift fork most likely. Sorry, but the only way I know of to repair is to remove engine and split the cases to get to the forks.

Yes, I know that only way to repear is dissasemble I will do that. Well, not by my self.. Friend of mune has motorcycle repair shop. He will do. I will jus helping him. I asked here to be prepared what to expect. And what to search in shops
So... I think broken ot bend shift fork is the "small evil". Im I right?

Your English is fine ... no worries. But ya, you are on the right track with the shift fork. The parts to replace are not expensive so if you have a friend with a shop it should not cost you very much to repair. Good luck.

Hi again. Can i ask 1 more quesion? It apear that im my hometown is a CBR in parts for sale. BUT, it is a CBR 500 - year - around '90. So, is there a chance for gearshift fork replasment? And what fork is for 2-nd gear? Right, Center or Left?

I look here- CBR 600 microfiche
and here- CBR 500 microfiche
And it looks like left and right forks are pretty much the same. And the center one.... have some difference.

Any one familiar with that kind of replacement? Or i should find forks <of cource if forks are the problem> from CBR 600.

And is there a list of compatible motorcycle parts. Parts ready for direct replacement <w/o any machining, ot with allmost whitout any machining>.I mean thinks like sprokets, rims, brake disks... everythink
