Cool 1990 hurricane running great 3 days ago. Now WTF?

So I rode my 90 cane home from work, no problem on friday morning no problem. this morning (monday), I gear up, jump on, turn then key and....absolutely nothing, no lights no clicks, no starter, no indicator lights, nothing. I tested the starter relay as described in my Clymers manual and I am not getting any voltage reading from the red/yellow, red/green wire. per the manual that means the relay is bad. If anyone can, please let me know if A) I am missing something (I have 12 volts all the way to the relay and nothing after) and if B) anyone knows of or has a good deal on a starter relay. Thanks for your help and ride safe.

I will give them a try. looks like about $60 or so with shipping is the best I have found so far. Just hope I didn't miss anything.

I would check the battery as well, hate for it to be the most simple thing. sometimes the most obvious problem really is the right one

the battery was fine on Friday and was showing 12.3 volts on the voltmeter. I know that isn't a load test but I wasn't even getting a side stand light when I turned the key. I found a used relay from a guy for $30. I know new would be a better, safer choice, but that is all I can afford at the moment. If this doesn't work a battery check is next. Thanks for the advice. you guys rock

Did you check the 30A fuse that is mounted on and part of the relay. If that fuse is blown, then you get nothing. That red wire coming out of the relay 4pin connector goes directly to the ignition. Right upstream of that is the 30A fuse. So, check the fuse, if the fuse is good, then check the red wire at the 6pin connector that feeds the ignition. You should get battery voltage.

checked the fuse visually and for continuity, replaced it with a spare that tested good as well. Still no joy. I followed the clymers manual test to the letter and it failed. I found a guy who will sell me a used relay for $30. I know it isn't new like it should be but it will keep me going for a while.
