1990 600 engine problems
hello everyone im new to this forum and i have a 1990 600 engine on a four wheeler and it was running great and now im having problems with it. about 2 weeks i went riding and it broke down found out that the fuel pump went out( the contact in the fuel pump were burnt) filed them down and it worked great after that when i had it apart allso took carbs off and cleaned them too. ran very well after that. then today i go out to ride it and it starts right up but then i go ro leave and it bogs out. and now it wont rev up it you give it gas it bogs and will die if i dont fether the gas. i have to take the fuel pump of to make sure but i dont think it is. dose any body have any ideas whats going on?
also how cridical is it that the air vent on the gas tank to be free because it is plugged solid with dirt?
one more thing just to keep in the back of my mind is there any other model years of engine that have the same engine mounts?
thank you every one
dan

Serious, just check your fuel pump again, if the contacts are burnt again you have more serious problems, try using dielectric grease on it to prevent the corrosion and check your grounds.
Nn the tank, Very Critical, as the gas can only go so far even with a pump before the tank becomes a vacuum and won't let the gas out. Take a cup and seal it up with water and astraw in it, now try to suck all the water in the cup out, without equalizing the pressure, you can't get but a little before the pressure differential becomes to great.
No other cbr's have the same motor mounts, just 87-90.

i do think it is the fuel pump again but i called the dealer they want $150 thats not happening. so i just started looking around for one. and the vent by the filler i found out is just for over flow it goes to the bottom of the tank so its not getting vacuumed locked form that. but i do need a gas cap.
thanks dan.
