When this happened to me when my engine was on a test stand and i didnt have the right handle bar so i jerry rigged it with some welding wire, because thats what fit in the connector, and the kill switch wire touched the engine and what happened to me is a few of the fuses went out, it actually happened a couple times, sometimes the main fuse would go out and sometimes it was a couple of the smaller fuses. Have you looked at a wiring diagram and followed the wires from the kill switch to other electrical components and tested them and the wires?

There is another fuse panel under the right filler panel. You probably popped the ignition circuit fuse..10 amp I think.

Default cbr trouble

i checked all the fuses and wires and battery everything is good, could it be the cdi , or one of the relays on the bike? what about the rectifier or starter soelinoid , also checked main fuse and is good . bike will do nothing no head light horn nothing , good battery tight terminals, what else? i want to ride this bike.

pull every fuse one by one and hold them up to the light. One of them must have a hairline split that your not seeing.they can be easy to miss

i had a similar problem. for a while my bike wouldnt start unless i push started it and sometimes it would start by the key.. then one day at bike week in laconia nh a bunch of smoke came out from under my seat. i changed out the main fuse and to make a long story short it didnt work. once or twice it would start and then the key would do nothing. sometimes the light would come on but wouldnt start. other times it did nothing at all. i went on ebay and bought a wiring harness for 50 bucks and since then its been running great!!
