Post 1988 CBR 600f rebuild kit?

Hey guys
Does anyone know of a place i can buy a rebuild kit for the engine? My motor has some serious leaks in the cyl. so hoping to be able to see the different gasket and piston kits i can find before i send the heads and jugs to a shop to be cleaned and tested.

Side question..
Are these motors interference or non interference ? I'm assuming interference like Honda car motors but what do I know about bike motors.

Any rebuilt tips would be great. this thing will be a lot different then the motors im use to playing with. Biggest difference is the fuel.

Thanks in advance.

I joined this forum just to ask this question, too. I'm guessing Wiseco Pistons can take special requests, but I didn't call them yet.

Rebuild parts are pretty much unavailable for these engines. You can find some parts occasionally but you’ll have to search for a while. You might be able to get pistons made but likely expensive.

The best cost effective option I have found is to buy a used engine. That’s why I have so many bikes in my signature. I have 7 of them now.

Wiseco can and will make pistons. Just $$$. They used to make overbore replacement pistons back in the early 90's for the Hurricane, but discontinued them around 95. As they used to make them, they already should have all the specs for making new. Their normal price for 4 custom pistons with wrist pins and rings is around $700.

The crank, rods, and bearings are nigh indestructible. The crank LOVES a knife edge grind.
Factory Pro still makes shift parts and ignition advances. Both are extremely well made and were used on the race bikes in the late 80's(and mine)
Headwork is all up to your machine shop or head porter of choice(you maybe?).
Gasket kits are available as NOS(new, old stock) parts, but nothing really new.
Electrosport makes regulator/rectifiers and stators. Both better than the OEM parts.
Dynojet still makes carb kits, mostly NOS is what you will find.
Clutches are still available.
Regearing kits are available.
Catridge emulators for the front shocks are available.
Stainless brake lines are available.

Stuff you have to be lucky to find:
Waterpump.
1990 Carbs.(best version)
Fuel pump.
Suspension bits.
Fox racing made a very limited run of rear shocks, as in under 50 total.
Unmolested airboxes.
Full head back exhaust kits.

Stuff you better just buy a parts bike for:
Plastic body panels.
Fuel tee fittings between carbs.
Gauges.
Non rusted exhaust.

Stuff nobody makes:
Crash bars.
Sliders.
Stunt cages.
A way to put bigger than a 160 width tire on the rear. (Don't)
Full cartridge front shocks.
Turbo kits.
Superchargers.
Nitrous kits.

I have the FSM linked in the sticky above and it is still working as of today. Download and it will take care of the "how to" side of things.

Sorry didn’t mean to imply that all parts were not available. Rebuilding an engine usually requires new bearings, valves, pistons, rings. These parts are difficult to find in my opinion. Pistons can be made as you pointed out but expensive. If all the parts could be found it still makes little sense to rebuild an engine for a bike that has a relatively low value. Used engines are not hard to find.

True, it is way easier and cheaper to just find a parts bike or another engine.
I was just listing what I now can be found, what I know is hard to get, and what I know is damn near impossible to find.
