There appears to be enough adjustability in the shifter and brake pedal to get away with the 25mm drop. Also not sure if rearward is a direction my semi-metallic leg wants to go. I'll know soon, just ordered a pair and they can swing back as well as down.

I haven't seen rearsets specifically for an F1. Do the later models have compatible frame mounting holes? There seem to be plenty of F4 and 929/954 rearsets around.

Yes, I think I was looking at the F4 or the RR rear sets. But they all look like they could fit. Might take a little modding of the mounting or making a plate to mount to but should work. We've done a lot more complicated stuff than that on these bikes.

Maybe someone who has one of those models could offer up the dimension of the spacing between the peg bracket mounting hole centers on those frames. That would be a good starting point. Of course the angle of the holes and relative position of the peg to the holes comes into play as well. Maybe a simple bracket made from 1/4" alu that just moves the stock assembly back an inch or whatever could be fabbed up instead. Maybe kinda like this:

If I understand correctly the F1 has a more relaxed rider position than the RR. So maybe with the RR seat on the bike making for a more tucked position, the stock F1 pegs are actually about where they would be relative to the seat on an RR. Haven't tried an RR myself, this is pure conjecture. But I do know that my old joints would appreciate not being tucked in quite so tight.

The rider seat is lower than the original Hurricane seat. That would result in your knees being higher than normal...but the tuck is pretty common on all the sport bikes. With the forward lean it isn't very comfortable. Dropping the pegs would help but they may have to go back more too. I haven't gotten that far to feel it yet. You might try some different positions on the bike where your legs are in a better position and see where your feet are. If you can get those lower pegs you bought to work you might be close. Those fully adjustable rear sets might give more options...think I may look at them again.

The stock F1 seat/bar/peg layout felt pretty good before I tore the bike apart. A little closer checking last night shows the new seat is about 1" lower. The new bars are only about 1/2" lower than stock, so it's actually a tiny bit more upright position than the stock seat/bar relationship and feels pretty good.

I had a choice of 25mm or 40mm offset pegs so I fooled around with roughly positioning my feet at each distance below the stock pegs. A straight 25mm drop felt pretty reasonable so I went with the 25mm offset pegs and I will start with that more or less straight 25mm vertical drop. I think the brake pedal and shifter adjusters will accomodate that pretty easily. If I can get away with some backwards rotation I'll give it a shot.

Worse comes to worse I'll fab up some rearset brackets.

This is an important issue so post pics when you get it done.

Will do. It may be a while, as the pegs are shipping from "Hong Kong", which usually means Shenzen or somewhere else.

Pegs worked out OK. Nicely finished. The thickness of the extension pieces puts the peg out about 1/2" from stock. Shifter is not a problem, but I may have to add a little extension to the tip of the brake pedal to get more pedal under my toe. There was plenty of vertical adjustment available in both pedals. You can see that I did have to cut a little clearance slot in the lower fairing to allow for the lowered brake pedal's downward travel. Once again, sorry for crummy phone pics. I snuck away from work this afternoon to get this done and it was getting dark when I finished.

BTW I wear a size 45 Euro boot and the reach to the pedals with the slight setback of the pegs is not an issue.

edit: after looking at a few unmolested brake pedals on ebay I have determined that mine has been bent and poorly straightened. I'm going to try a torch and a BFH to bring it back to the original shape. I think that will get it under my toe pretty well.

I have to be honest...I don't think I like the notch in the lower fairing.

I can't do this, because I added a top filler to the right lower fairing because I didn't like the wide opening there...I mounted it further out and added thermal material because I didn't want the exhaust to melt it. The pedal clears it now, but can't move it down.

Here's an old picture when I modified an added the top filler. I can't find any pictures that show it painted...and I haven't mounted the lowers yet.
