Default Here we go..

Ok guys I currently ride a 929. Love the craftmanship of Honda. Here is the dilemma, Im 6'4 and my back is starting to ache now...getting old I guess (35). I rode a Hayabusa the other day and loved it. But I hate Suzuki[:'(]. What is the comparison between the blackbird and the so called blackbird eater(Hayabusa)...Dont care about horsepower cause the 929 has enough for me.

The Birdis more comfythan the Busa. The Busa has as you already know far more power and it is also lighter and handles better in turns. The weight and turning capabilities are no problems on the Bird though, and it will get a very good steering response if the rear shock is lengthened by a 6 mm shim.

Well I have come from a CBR 1000 F to an 07 blackbird I am 50 and 6 feet 3 and it is just magic smooth and a very good riding position you wont be disappointed in the bird. Last Sunday we went for a bit of a ride about 500 Kls and I could have easily ridden a further 500 Kls, the only thing different on mine is that I have a sheepskin cover on the seat

I had a '98 Blackbird before changing for a 929 and then to a 954. Changed back to an 06 Blackbird in December. I did consider the Hayabusa, but I'm a Honda man and I think the Blackbird looks far better, it's better built and is a more complete machine.

Having ridden Fireblades (929/954) for 6 years, I must admit I miss the excitement they provided - the way corners can be attacked etc. Alongside the 954 I had a CBR1000F. Got rid of both of these for the Blackbird and I'd say the Blackbird is a cross between the two. Am enjoying the Blackbird so much and it's just as fast as the 954, but part of me misses the Fireblade!

I am 6'4" myself and went from a 93 1000F to a 2000 blackbird and I love it. I am getting ready to turn 32 so there is not much age difference. It may take a little riding to get use to it but if you don't like it you get handle bar risers to lessen you lean toward the handle bars. All around great bike even on those long trips and plenty of power to stay ahead of the rest.

Try a 6mm spacer on top of the rear shock. And make sure your sag is set for your weight.

These two cheap changes make an amazing difference to the handling of the blackbird.

As far as the bars go, can't the stock Blackbird bars be raised a little?

No - but you can get bar risers.

Or if you want a more OEM look - use the bars from a VFR800 VTEC - higher & further back
