Default 97 carby motor in 2005 frame?

Does anyone know if a 97 carby motor will fit into a 2005 injected frame? It seems that carby motors are more plentiful than injected motors, but there might be some problems: eg Do they use the same airbox? Does the digital dash work with the carby engine? If not, can it be modified? are the fuel lines the same? Any other help would be appreciated.

I'm in a bit of a hole as where to go with my bike. I bought it damaged and am wanting to develop it as a 'street fighter', but a damaged crank means I aint doing street crawling much less any street fighting.

I suppose if worst comes to worst the crank, fly wheel & stator coils may be the same for a swap over??? I just wonder. There must be an easy solution somewhere. Hopefully someone here has some idea???

Best option I can think of is to look up the fiches
www.mrcycles.com
Maybe the workshop manual may help
I think there's one on

thanks for the replies. I have checked some of the compatibility issues on MrMotorcycles. While there seems to be a great deal of compatibility, there would seem to be a problem particularly with the digital dash. As I understand (according to the jaws website), the stator of the carby bird is less powerful than the injected, so may not drive the electrics, even if the digital dash could plug in, which i don't think it does.

And I am thinking there might be another issue, the HISS security stuff. Would it allow you to put another engine in?

Again, thanks for the replies. I'm down, but not yet out.
