Constant Bit Rate. These bikes are much faster than ones that have Variable Bit Rate. LOL
For real though, would the initials be english words? The bikes carry the CBR1000RR designation over pretty much the whole world, aside from the areas where it is marketed as the Fireblade. The CBR600RR is worldwide to the best of my knowledge. I would think that they would use their native language when lettering the bikes. Although I don't know for sure, the best guess I have heard is that they are arbitrary type designations with CBR being inline fours. The only problem with that is the CBR125 and CBR150.
I personally think that they are just random designations for production, like Lexus LS, GS, ES, IS, LX, GX, RX. They all have numbers for the engine size but the letters don't really mean anything aside from S being cars and X being trucks and L is always the big one, followed by G, then whatever.
Maybe they just thought CBR sounded cool.
