Default Value of a wrecked '07 cbr1000rr?

Hello All

I am brand new to the forum and hope you can help me out.Up to this point I have been a gsxr guy but I have come across what appears to be a good deal on a wrecked 2007 cbr1000rr. It is pretty well wadded but supposedly comes with a clean and clear title.

First the bad:
plastics are trashed
no gauges (supposedly title shows 4K miles)
upper triple tree is cracked
rear subframe is trashed and 1 mounting point on frame is damaged

The Good:
Motor turns over and would run if fuel tank was hooked up
Frame appears straight except for 1 subframe mounting point damaged
swingarm and rear wheel are fine
fork tubes and front wheelappear straight (but not sure due to damage to upper triple tree)

The seller is asking $1900 neg. Does this sound reasonable? low? high?

I am not wanting to return this bike to factory, rather use it as a base fora streetfighter style build.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.[sm=helpout.gif]

How can the title show mileage?

The title will show whatever mileage was declared when the bike last changed hands. It will not show "current" mileage

Seems high to me, i also cant imagine how its not salvaged. That seems like way too much damage not to be.

I would run away from that bike. Too many unknowns.

Bikes only get salvaged titles if insurance is involved, which not so often the case with bikes.

I would say low ball him, and make sure the engine (hook up the tank and run it) and frame are good first, if so, those 2 things are worth 1500 bucks alone.

If you buy this bike you are going to need to put about $2500-3000 into it even with ebay...so total you have say $5000 into it and you still won't knwo if there is anything else wrong with it. You will have to buy alot of good OEM stuff to hide the damage and you will never resell it and get what you paid for it...I will sell you mine for $7800 and/or just run away from this junker...
