Thanks for the advice high miles just worry me. I've had the bike for 7 months got almost 6,000 onit and wasn't able to ride three of those months cauce of winter.
Disconnecting the odometer isn't going to change the miles the bike has on it !

Unless its a puretrack bike - don't do it.

Since i bought my bike from a dealer. I'm not worried too much. but i know when someone is selling like a 99 f4 and they are like 4000 orig miles.... LOL BS and even if they only rode it a little i bet they didn't maintian it.

If you don't want to go thru the hassle of unplugging it. invest like 300 into another speedo off ebay and swap them out

But comon who cares how many miles you rack up on the bike... it's yours..as long as you don't sell it,who cares

To all the bashers that I'm gonna be getting, my bike is strickly track ridden and salvaged titled.
I do not encourge anyone to do anything illegal to a bike or car that is used for on-road purposes.
You don't encourge anyone to do sobut you post how to do it.
Only because he asked how......... Most people that run track bikes have them dissconected. Thats why I know how to do it. I actually had to reconect mine though because of the freaked out ECM.
Again, I'm not trying to encourge anyone to do anything illegal to there streetbikes. [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Leave it as is. 6,000 miles is nothing.

ur bad for even thinking of it...just kidding on a serious note. I think everyone does it...cuz I see all these 2 to 5 year old bikes with less than 400 miles...when I see those...given a 3 year old bike...It looks to good to be true....fixed....so Ive noticed alot of track guys do it as well...then convert later to streets for sale....just cold in opinion....

Its kinda nice to know your actual mileage for servicing too.... how you going to know when its time for your valve clearance check when your odo is stuck at 6,000 miles... the techs will laugh at you when you take it in "you dont need it for another 10,000 miles" y'know?
