Hey Guys.. I was thinking about getting a 06 or 07 CBR 1000 next season, but I heard that there are hot spots with the undertail exhaust. Just howHOT does it get under the *** w/ that exhaust..lol.. I'mthinking with the heat from themotor and theexhaust I'm gonna be getting off that bike well done. I'm thinking on a hot summer day 90 degrees and up I'm gonna be sizzling. Does the factory do a good job isolating the heat?I'm a Honda fan but that undertail exhaust sometimes makes me think I should keep my 929. I know Honda eliminated the undertail exhaust for 08, but the 08 style still has to grow on me. Thanks for any input..

 

I have an 07... I dont think it's much different than a side mounted pipe. I dont notice a whole lot more.

 

Yeah, I don't really notice a heat difference between undertail and side mount.

 

i don't really feel any heat radiating from the exhaust. Usually i feel the heat at my ankles from the engine *shrugs*

 

hehe, I usually feel it on my wrists at a light when the fan kicks in. [&:]

 

yeah, i feel it the heat from the motor when the fan kicks in other than that not too bad, well except my girl leaves butt sweat every time she gets off the back, haha but hey it is 90 degrees outside, what do you expect

 

It's not any hotter than any other bike, IMO. My old RC51 seat got pretty hot in traffic and it didn't even have an undertail exhaust!

 

No issues with heat, in fact it is a lot cooler than my 954 was.
