Default Total power loss

OK i have a 06 and i thought i had a plug missfiring (thats what the stealership said), but it is more than that. When i hit 7,8,8.5 RPMS the bike dies right out. AS if i totally let off the throttle. i Hammered on it in first gear hit 55MPH as it hit 7RPM and it totally died out? As soon as i backed it off it picked up a little and slowly herky jerked it's way up? Not sure what's going on, everything sounds fine and the bike runs smooth no engine noise or anything, but as soon as it hits 7-8k RPMS it just stops. does it in every gear at the sameRPM. If i shift before it does it, the bike runs fine. It pulls hard until it hit 7-8k RPMSI even tried gentlye rolling on it and get the same thing?

I am thinking maybe my sato slip on basically means i need to instal a PCIII and have it mapped? I am going to try the factory pipe again and see if it still does it. (never rode it before with teh factory pipe on it.)

I put new plugs in it,the bike only has 1800miles, filters are clean, new Repsol oil, fresh tank of gas? I can only assume it needs to be mapped to make up for the Sato Slip on.

Thats most likley not your issue. Most bikes will run fine with any slip on pipe. you could have and ECU problem. Sounds like something in the ECU's stock fuel map. Hope you figure it out. I feel your pain... See below...

Airflow sensor orthrottle position sensorthat has come unplugged or has been damaged could do that. Also, it could be a fuel pressure problem. If it's a fuelproblem,it'll cut out at lower RPM when you get on it hard and higher RPM when you slowly creep toward the cutoff area. If it's always the same, I would look to the electronics. Good luck.

The engine seems to be running fine so i am thinking it might be electrical (sensor, ecu)? My only question with that, why wouldn't it be throwing a check engine light and code??

I think my first trouble shoot is try swapping ou the ecu with my buddies, Because if the portion of the ECU that controls the rev limiter is faulty, It probably won't throw a code, and since it cuts out at about the same RPM every time it almost makes sense.

Mine did the same thing but just before mine started doing it i had the battery out and i didnt tighten the ground up good and the weak battery connection was telling the comp there was no oil pressure and would shut it down. Something to look at and my 2cents worth.
