Tires finally wore out
I have beeen reading about how some have wore out their stock tire fast. Well I have 8900 on my 06 and the tires finally need to be replaced. I commute mostly with some mountain rides, and no I don't have a flat spot highway tread nice and round. The rear just started to have smal blisters at the outer edge.Honda must have given me plastic tires

RE: Tires finally wore out
It doesn't surprise me to get that long out of a tire (especially when ridden normal without aggressive starts or downshifts). I managed almost 8000 out of my front stock tire, and I have to say I was pretty aggressive with it. (stock rear tire's life was tragically cut short due to a flipping screw.)
Currently have a few thousand miles on my new set of Qualifiers, and they still look damn new with plenty of tread.

I rolled8100 on the rear Diablo on my 1000 before the chords showed through 3/4 of the way through a trip. FUN!! The bad thing about the Diablo.....it gives little to no warning when it goes as the wear bars are not in the right spot. Thought it would make it.......no luck. The front looks as if it could last for ever yet.

Tire wear isn't just about how much you abused your tires. It is also dependant on the type of roads (Asphalt or concrete), condition of roads, and temperature of roads (Desert = faster wear).
Also forgot that bikes used on the track will also wear sooooooooo much faster than someone that does much more commuting. The commuter will not heat up (And wear away)the tires the same as say someone on the track or someone that constantly tests the tires limits.
