RE: Time for a new chain!
TK and Onarum, thanks for the feedback, I purchased a DID 530 chain yesterday and two new steel sprockets for $244 including installation. The shop manager suggested I stick with what came on the bike which of course is a DID chain. The last chain held up for roughly 10k, so I couldn't ask for much more right?

RE: Time for a new chain!
Sorry for getting back to you so late, but I went one down on the front and stayed with stock rear gearing. For what its worth, the bike rides much better to me with this setup. The bike revs higher at highway speeds but makes a big difference in the mountains. I'm not tap dancing all over the gear box. Of course the top end is down but then again do I really need to be going that fast anyway on the street? Probably not!

Starleak, you're so right....the RK chains caught my eye but I saved a few bucks by going with the DID chain overRK's top of the line chain. I contacted sprocketcenter.com for the equipment. I paid around $200 for the equipment and another $40 or so for installation at a local shop here in Georgia.
