Thanks,

I'll have to check to be sure. I'll take both if I have to as anything can help. The savings in insurance is just an added bonus.

I pay $152 a year ... liability only. MSF got me $25 off for 2 years. Plus it made the judge very happy. As far as 1kRR or 600, get what ya like. The extra CCs prolly won't make that much difference in resale or on the track (I can't ride my 04 1kRR to its potential) but like has been said will give you a bit more oomphh in regular riding.

But take the MSF regardless. I promise you will learn something helpful.

Thanks...

At this point I'm just waiting for the next step to be over with and hopefully an offer of employment. Next step is oral review board in mid January.

...

Has anyone tried to ask for a test ride? DFW honda has a 2 2007 1krr's for sale and one is a demo bike from what the salesman says.
...

Anyone in the DFW area that knows a place to test ride let me know...
I just bought an 08 CBR from DFW Hondaand they let me test ride one of the used CBR's -no hassel at all. Of course you do sign your life away so if you wreck it, you fix it (normal). I rode in on my big BMW 1200GSso they at least knew I could keep a bikerubber side down and that may have helped.

For the test I spent about an hour cruising wherever I wanted, getting a good feel for the bike to make sure it was what I wanted. Seemed to work since I have on sitting in the garage now.

Just beware of the LEO's trolling for bikers on that highway, they are brutal to the guys on two wheels.

Yeah they are brutal for a reason though. I am sick of getting passed or riding side by side with guys on one wheel. I get really uneasy when they lack the brains to wear a helmet.

I'll have to talk to my salesman up there. I think his name is Scott, short dark haired guy. When did you buy the bike from them? Did they still have the 2-2007 1krr's?

Agreed, if you're squidding around on the same road with carloads of families then you need to bitch slapped. It's easy enough to take that stuff somewhere safe (for others). No gear, especially not wearing a helmet, is just plain stupid because let's face it, this sport/hobby isn't safe - that's one of the reasons we like it! Last summer I rode up ona guy while on114 a few miles east of the dealershipthat had just fallen off the back of his buddies sportbike - no helmet, no boots, no jacket and no pulse. That was just simple fall off the back of the bike. My day really sucked after that. I'm sure his was worse.

As for your question - I picked my bike upyesterday! My wife actually went down and bought the thing earlier in the week (yeah, she's a keeper alright). I have to admit that I was so psyched about picking mine upthat I didn't notice which used bikes they still had but there was quite a selection. The buying experience was really good, well as good as they are going to be anyway. No hard sell or BS, they were really open with the facts and let us decide what to do. Hopefully the service experience will be as good.

I moved to Texas from a helmet law state and after almost a year and a half I still can't get used to seeing riders without them.

I just looked at your thread. If you don't mind me asking what did they want for that bike? I was actually looking at the new bike they had in there that was burgundy. He said they'd be getting lots of used stuff up there. Only bike they had used that was half sporty was the ktm duke...

I don't think I'll ever get use to it. It's a lot like all the people riding down the expressway in the back of a pick-up truck. I assume that is legal as well? People use to do it in MI but I haven't seen that in forever.

I saw that KTM sitting out front - it looks like a stealth fighter with that flat black paint job and angular lines.

As for the price, that'sdepends on how much of the'other' stuff youwant to count. If you disregard all of the fees, taxes and other nonsense that your going to have tacked on regardless it started around $9500. Bythe time the state gets done bending you over and you sweep in the little junk like 'processing fees' it was probably closer to $11k - my wife took care of that part and I didn't reallylook over the paperwork[sm=smiley29.gif]
