Default Tail light assembly?

I just purchased my 2006 CBR 1000rr and started a few modifications. I ordered a new "smoke" intergrated tail light and need to install it. Can someone please tell how I can remove the tail light and install the new item? I tried looking at the cbr manual but it doesn't show me anything about the tail light assembly. Do I have to remove my seats? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need to remove the seat, then the rear plastic. Make sure you'll slow and careful removing the rear plastic.

I swaped out my tailight, not with a UFO, but with a Clear Alternative LED piece. Not so difficult. Check out some pics here.

Line up the colored wires and such. Also, visit this link for some help.

Good luck and post some pics when you're done!

Thanks for the tip. It was harder than I thought because I was very careful not to break anything. Now I have to go find a fender kit. What do you recommend? I am going to change out the exhaust but later down the road because I don't have money for that right now. Attached is the photo of the end product. It certainly does make the bike look cleaner.

Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator LTD is the best looking, however it's tremendously expensive at about $150.
