Default strange but big problem

Ok guys, heres 1 for ya. One of my friends ended up buying a new 07 1krr. He has it for about 2 months. we were riding the other day and he was just going straight and i see his rim break out from the tire. He wipes the bike out flys in a ditch as the bike barrel rolls. hes cool but after looking at the totaled bike. the rim had about a quarter of it takin out of it and the edge had about a 5 in stripped that was bent. He trying to get Honda to give him a new bike. Has any1 heard of this before? There should be no reason a rim breaks and sure in hell bends that pot medal bends at like 1000 degrees. so i just thought id ask what you guys think

Jesus. I have never heard that before. The problem your prolly gonna run into though is they are going to say the accident caused the rim. Unfortunatly your going to have a hard time proving otherwise . Glad to hear your friend is ok though.

Get a lawyer...sometimes it only takes one threatening letter from an attorney to see things through

dont take this personally but im not buying that the stock rim just managed to bend and break under no outside stress other than riding. it just doesnt happen. i think he hit a giant pothole or something. wheels dont just fall apart. it doesnt happen. or perhaps he had an accident then the wheel broke. either way he is going to be S.O.L. with Honda. they have no way to prove the wheel was at fault and since this isnt an ongoing issue they are not going to take the financial hit for something that most likely was not their fault at all.

We cant believe it happened like that either, but with a pot hole or anything like that the rim if it were by chance going to break then it would shatter thats how pot medal is this rim bent at like 90 degree angles and had pieces misssing. we still cant believe how it happened either and been looking up what the rims are made out of and everything to figuire it out but anyways honda is sending a rep to the dealership to go through the bike

for metal to bend there has to be an outside source. nothing bends/breaks without pressure. simple physics.

ya granted but arent the rims on the bike under pressure at all times, and that outside source could be a defect in the rim stress crack or something like that
