On a 530 chain the '5' designates 5/8" between pins and the '3' is 3/8" sprocket width. The 520 is again 5/8" between pins but 2/8" or 1/4" wide sprockets. So you eliminate mass from the chain and sprockets and that is a good thing. Bad part is you have less sprocket and chain contact area so the parts will wear faster.

I`m not disagreein with your choice but for the weight saved is that the only reason to do it?

Ya, less unsprung weight. But it's also less rotational mass. So that means quicker revving and less HP loss through mechanical transmission.

what about changing teeth to get a little more on bottom end, what is a good thing to do? i also heard that it doesnt change top speed, just where the power is delivered.

I read that 15 front and 42 on back is suppose to be about the best. If anyone thinks I'm wrong please tell me, like I said thats what I read.

I heard the same because other bikes are coming stock with 16 front and 43 rear. I myself have 15t front and I like it but I would like some more pull so i'm gonna try the 42t rear.
