Default Speed governor/restrictor, how to reflash/eliminate???

Sup guys,

Friend of mine is doing up a 2006 1000rr and would like to know of a good source who can reflash and eliminate the speed restrictor in the ECU. If anyone knows of a good and reliable, lets not forget cheap source, please let me know!

I DO KNOW the bike is a maniac as it is and top speed is 186mph, but he needs medication.

Thanks,

grumpy

Same here, speedo said 189mph but the gps only read 174mph. I thought they had a 185mph cap. The new gsxr1000 does 190mph. [&:]

Now Now, let's not hate on the cheaply made Gsxr's. I mean on the new Gsxr's. Sorry couldn't resist. But they have a good reason (there really is no good reason) to be made cheap. They want to have the lowest prices on the market.

P.S. So people will buy them.

Lets all remember that even striaght from the factory, the speedo can be up to 10% off. The ealier posts proves that.

almost all vehicles have incorrently higher speedo readings
its against the law for the manufacturer to post a lower reading so they always err on the side of caution

wow.. got a little off topic huh.. haha, i guess i'll go with the flow.. sorry grumpy i don't know how to get rid of the speed limiter except for getting a power comander. And i agree with grumpy, we had an airstrip closed down for us " 2 miles long" and had the radar set up at one mile, my speedo read 186 and not a mph more, the radar said 180 on the button....
