Default Should I get a 1000rr?

Whats up, I am just looking for pros and cons for the 04-06 1000rr. I have a 01 929rr and I'm looking for some insight from 1000rr riders. I'm staying with honda but I want to here you guys thoughts on your 1k's. I'm looking for a bike with good handling, thats why I got the 929. I heard that the 04-05 1k had thin cylinder walls and the motor was not as strong as a honda motor should be, saying that it is not reliable. Is this correct? And I heard that the 05rr was heavy and had bad breaking. I read up on the 06rr and I like what I read. Better control, more power, and lighter. I am 6'0 tall and 180lbs. I am tired of being beat up on by the gixxer 1000 and the R1, and I can't brag about beating 600's

What problems have you guys had with your bikes and what do you love about your bike other than it being a HONDA!!!I would greatly appreciate any comments.

I 'm buying an 06 1000RR as soon as the dealers call me. Probably in the next few weeks. The bike weighs less than 400lbs. & It's a HONDA quality. Other companies might have better specs in certain areas, but over all, HONDA is HONDA & I will never ride anything else. I love the way honda's handle, less vibration, smooth ride, looks, quality, & performance.

The 06 1000RR did loose some weight from the 05's but no where near the point to be under 400lbs. In fact the article in the latest issue of Roadracing World says the new wet weight is 448lbs down from 465 which is still very light for a liter bike.

Honda claims a dry weight of less than 400 lbs. I understand that this may not be totaly accurate, but still not bad at all.

I`ve never ridden the 929 so I couldn`t compare the 2 rides. Alls I know is I love mine and will keep it a good while. Best thing would be to go to a dealer and get a test ride on one, you`ll soon feel the differences from your daily ride.

I have had 2 x 929s 1 x 954 and my 1000rr05 that i still i am still on at the moment depending on your finance go for the 1000rr if not the 954 is a top stead ,but the 929 in my opinion is no where near as good as the others..

Precision quality and controllable performance are still there... A notch here and a notch there for Suzi's, Kwaka's and a few R1's, but overall I've had no problem with them once the lean session starts. Since I'm concentrating more so on the road and what I can pull from it vs the others trying to control their rides a bit more - It seems you can start to perfect you riding earlier than on the others while they try to master their metal steeds... I'm just more comfortable on a Honda having had a 900RR for nearly 10 years. Moving up to the 1000RR has been nothing less than stellar!

Straight off the line the others are pulling a bit, but then again a sprocket here, pipe there, etc. would take care of that problem!
To lean is divine and represents true rider capability when on a good circuit to me. I just go faster since I'm more comfortable. Having tried a ZX-10, GSXR, and R1 I know I was able to push farther on the Honda... The R1 was nice though but too thin. Might as well have been on a 600 which is my main nemesis. A great 600 driver is hard to stick with in the lean. Or.... I just need more practice!

Not a weekend track guy or stunna, but always felt that I'd break 'fore she will....in a turn and on the throttle. In my area, dealers WITH NOT let you test ride, if you can't find a buddy or some one and give one a shot...sure you'll love it....course I'm a bit biased...
