Default RE: which seat?

I had a Corbin on my VFR800. It weighed a ton, was hard as a rock, and the pan looked like a first grader made it out of clay in art class. I ordered a Sargent for my Aprilia, but sent it back because it wasn't much better than stock and the steep square edges on the seat make it hard to hang off in corners. If you look at your stocker you will know what I mean, they are tapered down on the edges and the aftermarkets have more of a squared off edge. If you think the seat is bad on your Honda, swing a leg over a Ducati at your local dealership and you will re-think the comfort level of your honda seat. This thing is comfy as a lazy boy compared to the one my ducati had!

I wear padded shorts under my pants and now the seat is a non issue...I can ride all day!!
I had a Sargent seat as well on my CBR1000RR and if you sit back on the seat it was cushy, but I am short and I sat on the front and had issues with the "sharp edges"..once I started wearing the shorts it did not matter, so I sold the Sargent seat

I like the stocker, unless i was on the motorway (freeway) for 5 hours it never bothers me anymore, was a bit hard until i was used to it, about 2k miles i think.

I used a small piece of pipe and heated it with a propane torch because I felt the foam would be less likely to tear over time if it was melted rather than cut.

It takes around 2,500 to 3,000 miles to break in the stock seat. It dosent bother me anymore but used too. I was just about to shell out a couple hundred for a new one but then it broke in.

See, the thing with the corbin seat is this....Its flat and broad. Its good if you're a cruiser, but its still hard. Remember though that a soft seat breaks down as you ride and can become more uncomfortable than a firmer seat. Also, there are other things to bitch and moan about when it comes to an individual's riding other than a seat. You wont see the AMA guys slowing down because their seat is square and they cant hang off the bike good. In fact you can probably put a brick on the bike as a seat and they'll still lap us out on the track.

ive never ridden with a sargent seat, but i do have a corbin for my 929. its better than stock for about 80% of the riding i do. its more comfortable when commuting or riding while staying seated in the same postition for long periods of time. as for performance riding, it sucks. the stock seat is much easier to move around on and hand off of. i switch back and forth depending on the riding that i plan on doing.
