Default Saddle and Tank bags

Bags on a crotch rocket may sound wierd. But sometime you just gotta do what ya gotta do.

Recent 1700 mile round trip from MI to TN made me purchase some bags for the bike as I ran out of pocket space. Thought I would post a pix or two. Very happy with the bags for space, and they never moved during the trip. Loading up the tank bag also gave me a place to lean over resting my arms and helmet at times.

Would recommend them for anyone making a long distance trip and not wanting the weight on your back (pack).

Yes sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, since my bike is my only vehicle you should try grocery shopping with only a joerocket tail bag !

I went with a tank and a tail bag, both Oxford Sport Humpback Series. Heres a pic near the start of Tail of The Dargon in Tn.

QukiSilver,

Looks good. I also considered the rear seat bag, but with the saddle bags I was able to throw a duffle bag between them for additional room.

For my run down the Dragon I was not fully loaded. We had a hotel in Knoxville, so I left most of my items in the room.

Looks better then a trash bag with bungie cords. I usually just wear a backpack.

I have a '05, my buddy has a '04. We load up saddle bags and tail packs (I have Cortech that I swear by), we did 1950 miles this past summer. bungied our mesh jackets between seat & tail pack (or our leather jackets). Looked somewhere between Grapes of Wrath and Beverly Hill Billies, but hot damn we had a great trip!

I would encourage any/all to do yourself a favour and take an extended motorbike tour.

Cheers

I am going to be buying a tail bag (954) and would really like to get a tank bag as well. My concern was about scratches, any problem or concern with the tank bags for you guys and scratches. Also, how well did the strap system work on the tank bag. Seeing a tank bag a Repsol makes me think scratching is not a concern. Very cool pics for both bikes.
