Default Running temp RR7

HI all,

I've recently purchased a CBR1000RR7 from a dealer and have a question. As the title really. My bike seems to run hot at anything below 45-50mph. Anything below 50mph for long periods temp creeps up to 100 degrees but usually stays at 92-95 until <30 mph or traffic. Fan kicks in around 104 ish. Once that high takes along time to come back down.

Very rarely stays at 82 c. Is this normal ? I've always had GSXRs in the past and they never got that hot unless stuck in traffic on summers day. I live in the uk so is very rare!!

Cheers,

My cbr900 gets hot quickly in traffic but soon cools (2 milesish) when I get a little air moving through her as traffic lightens. The gauge reading very low most of the time will be reading mid temp once I've spent 10mins in heavy traffic and before another 10 mins is up I'll be waiting for the fans any moment. By heavy traffic I mean hardly moving and outside temps will be warm as I can't be arsed to ride if it's cold. I'm an x London despatch rider so never hang about in traffic if I can help it but sometimes it's just too busy to really get going.
The running hot at anything below 50 seems a little concerning though but you say the fans are cutting in so at least you know you have them available to help.
Guessing you've been watching coolant levels with your issue and maybe this is just a trait of your bike, who knows ? Least you can do is monitor fluid levels and make sure fan is good if things continue.
Sorry can't be of more help mate but the forum will come to your help when they wake lol
Best of luck
