???reserves?????
I recently purchased a 2007 1000rr and just came to the possible conclusion(found out the hard way) that this bike does not have a fuel reserve switch. being new to most bikes especially Honda's this is new to me. can anyone tell me if there is a reserve switch or did i miss something after reading the manual front to back.[:@]

RE: ???reserves?????
I really missed something if my bike has a fuel guage, i have been riding it daily and read the ENTIRE manual and nothing about a fuel guage, only a light. I only get 100 miles until the fuel light comes on and another 28 mile to DEAD EMPTY. something aint right. Just checked before sending and i have a Tach guage and the digi display has speed, time, temp and odomoters. am i blind????

RE: ???reserves?????
there is another current thread on here called MPG. read that over it a little. if your only getting 100 miles/28 mpg. then you are riding too aggressively, keep your RPMs down some, ride between 4-6k rpms, your gas milage should go up. You can shift before red line,jkIf that doesn't help then something migth be wrong?

RE: ???reserves?????
Careful with that. You should measure your fuel mileage by how much gas goes back into the tank, not by when the light comes on. The light can vary due to the delay circuit. The light will always come on "around" a certain point, but it's not exact. Some of you may simply be assuming that you are using more fuel than you really are. That can make a large difference.

You have a fuel gauge, so you don't need a reserve. When the bottom bar start's blinking, you have about .9 gallons remaining. Re-read the part in the manual about the fuel gauge, but I'm almost positive it's .9 gallons left.
