Ok..let the cooling system do its job. But what about the mixed signals about coolant additives? Unlike joker, I dont plan on seeing my bike ina junkyard anytime soon. lol Is there a coolant additive that is proven to be safe on these bikes coolant systems? This is my first 'true' sportbike that is water cooled. I moved up from 2 previous suzuki katanas ( a 94 750 and 96 600)that were air/oil cooled.

It gets pretty hot in southern Ohio in the summer, too, and I've never had any problems with my RC51 or RR. They're not "overheating" 'til they're puking coolant on the ground!

ha motoman72,
i have a 06 1k no problem but if you want cool i hace a 03 goldwing those things blow out to the side no problem getting to hot. the only reason i get hot on the 1k is when the temp reaches 90 - 95 plus and i am in full riding leathers.

Thanks to everyone that has taken the time to respond, however I don't think anyone has read my original question very closely.
For the thrid time, all I was curious about was whether or not the 04-05's ran cooler than the 06-07's due to the fact that the 04-05's have a larger radiator.
That's it. Yes/No, & I'm good.
I was just curious. I never meant to imply that any of the honda's are prone to over-heating. I have read that certain models tended to run a little hotter than others, but that isn't a negative comment just an observation made by a couple of different magazines.
I thought that you guys would be the ones to askabout it.
Either way it's not going to stop me from buying the bike I want, just wanted some insight.

My question is has anyone experienced any problems with excessive heat on the 06-07's compared to the 04-05's?
No.
