Hey guys I was just wondering what kind of oil do you guys put in your 1000rr, I'm doing research on what kind of oil and what are the specs and the advantage and disadvantages.... if you any of you have the time to share please do, in other words what kind of oil and filter do you use, well thank you for your time.

 

I use Mobil 1 15W50EP synthetic in my REPSOL. It's kind of spendy but it has great characteristics.

 

I use Castol R4 Semi synthetic, or Mobil 1 Semi Synth both 10w 40 and always stock oil filters.

Honda GN4. Good old standard dino oil. My bike only has 3000 miles on it. I think at the next oil change I may go to Honda's full synthetic.

 

honda doesnt make a full synthetic oil. they only make a synthetic blend

i use repsol full synthetic in my bike

 

Ditto on the Mobil 1 15W50. Great stuff with zero clutch problems with over 80K miles of use in 3 different bikes.

 

I use shell rotella t. Good type III oil and not as expensive as other sythetics.

 

My bad, I thought the HP4 was synthetic. I don't really care, just change it every 3k and you should be fine. I think synthetic would be necessary if you were following Honda's recommendation of only changing the oil every 8k miles.

 

thanks guys, i just changed my oil yesterday with the standard oil and filter, on my next change i will be using the synthetic oil with stock filter and i was also wondering when are the oil changes with the synthetic?
