RE: quarter mile times?

It all depends on the rider because it is so close it does not matter.I do know one thing for sure the cbr is the best looking bike out of all of them.Who cares about a little faster when you are riding the finest bike made. 2006 BLUE AND YELLOW CBR 1000 RR IS FRICKEN SICK!
Thats what I ride.

I rode and 06 1k gixxer and got 102 in first and my buddies 05 1k rr i rode does high ninties.... but on 1 wheel the honda is wayyy more stable! I must say i can ride a wheelie longer then 90% of the ppl out there on my 06 600rr so i doesnt matter how much hp u have its rider and if u can get the balance point. i think u should check out a 600 personaly learn how to actually ride b4 u get a liter bike. I'm only 20 but have been road racing for 10 years and u'll probably never be good enough to use a 1000's power or atleast @ 19 unless ur the next hayden...haha

yea, I would get the Honda. You WONT be disapionted!! That bike is insane! But for your first? do you have any experience? I would go with a 600. Not that it's a starter bike at all, it's just so comfy and sweet to ride.. just throw it into the corners... Maby the triumph daytona 675? that thing is SWEET! but the new 07 cbr 600's are sick also.

I realy hope you don't end up dead dude. I'm on my second 600 Im 197 lbs and wide open I have to try to keep the front wheel down. You so don't need a 1000 dude trust me. For one they are heavier 600's are lighter and you will take a 1000 around a corner I went group riding for first time the other day dude that was on a 1000 could not go around corners as fast as us. Any fairly new 600's will do 180 when governer is taken off stock. Please listen when I say this You will lay this thing down its just a fact. Remember your first 10 speed you fall and you learn now think about this do you want to fall doing more than 180mph you will die period if your doing stupid **** like that. I wish I had started on like a 250cc something I still am not even using one third of my bike in the turns its crazy. Once again a 600 is faster than a freaking viper at take off and there are probably very few cars in your state that can even match the top speed you don;t want to be a puddle. One more thing 600 is lighter if you start to drop at red light you should be able to catche it. I have 06 gsxr 600 and 06 cbr600rr if i where you i would get the honda. Has way more torque down low and over all feels like a more powerfull bike. The gsxr boggs down at low rpms the honda does not. Pluss you gota love the tail pipe coming out the back vs the side. For real dude dont DONT dont get 1000 for first bike it Can kill you very easy again im a big guy and I have to hold the freak on when i open up 600. I allmost yanked my wife off of back just today so trust me the max you should be on is 600cc period truthfuly you should get a 250.

RE: quarter mile times?

One concern if you ever get serious about drag racing the double R 1000s is the hydraulic clutch. There definitely not as easy to "slide" as a cable clutch, but it can be done. There is a yellow and blue RR somewhere here in Texas I've seen running very good numbers.
The other thing I've noticed about the 1000's is clutch chatter. If you know how to slide the clutch hard (ie. 60ft. times below 1.70s), then you can experience some. Disappointing I think. Not sure if the 06 07 are doing it, but I've had 2 different 05s do it to me.
My 954 does it really bad without the judder spring in place.

Any fairly new 600's will do 180 when governer is taken off stock.....JC u must smoke some good stuff haha no offense but no stock 600 is gunna touch 180 w/ or without a gov unless u put a 5 tooth rear sprocket on the back and have a 10 mile straight away!! sorry dude and the liter bike way close to the same but on tha note no one should get a 1000 for a first bike. 160mph is enough and most times too much
