Default Proton Lights Version 2

Ok...question number 2. Once I remove the OEM turn signal there is a rubber plug in the fairing that the OEM turn signal bolts through. If I take this rubber plug out.....there is one big hole and no apparent way for the Protons to secure to the fairing. If I leave the rubber plug in the fairing, the Proton screw shaft is too short to reach all the way [:@]through the rubber stopper so that I can put the bolt and washer on. How the heck do these things freaking work! HELP!

Thanks!

I left the rubber grommet out when I installed the Protons on my 06. I used the washer to secure the signal. Check the attached link.

I was running into the same problem while installing my flash mounts(can't remember the brand). I had to take out the plugs and put them back with opposite side, so the filled out the space in the hole, overwise lights were sitting too deep inside. Then I just squeezed them very tight(someone helped me squeezing them while I put the nut) and screw the nut with a thin washer on a screw shaft.

Well that washer that comes with the lights is BARELY big enough to secure the lite through the hole, I will get a larger washer and put the smaller one on top of it so that it will much more secure. Thanks for the tips and the link to that site...it helps with the wires!

That was a great link....it worked well and so do the lights. I went to Home Depot and got a larger washer, a 1/8" x 1 which certainly was large enough to secure the lights through the hole. I have them on fast blink.....they look really cool! Thanks again for your help....I appreciate it.
