I've owned many bikes and have always had good success stripping the black paint from the edges of the rims and polishing the aluminum. That was until now. When I stripped the paint from the 1000's rims, it was an ugly mess made up of pitted metal. I've never been a fan of chromed wheels on a sportbike because of the almost plastic-looking appearance, so I had them powder coated and absolutely love the results. The whole rim now has a shiny aluminum appearance that looks great and the best part was that it's only $75 per rim. These guys say they can also color match rims to your bike or do 2-tone jobs. I was thinking of having my wheels powder coated just wondering how long you had to wait to get your wheels back?

 

The rims were ready the day after I dropped them off. I heard about this place from our local bike shop, otherwise powder coating would never have crossed my mind. They're in Columbus, GA. #706-563-0562.
