Default Operating Temperature?

After the bike is warm, what is the normal operating temperature suppose to be? Between 180 and 220 F?

No traffic, cruisin you should be 180, but in traffic, the upper range to 220.

With outside temp in the mid 80's, seein about 180 on the highway (80 mph), rapid climb to 225 when stopped, electric fans come on and drops to around 205. Once I get movin again, back down to around 180. Bike has just under 200 miles on it now.

My last bike was a 04 600F4i and did the same thing, I was really concerned about thiswhen I first got itt because my other vehicles are diesel pickups and I'm used to seein a constant 190 after warmup. Sometimes in the summer the F4i would go up to 248. Overtemp on both these bikes is 252 and I'd be more comfortable with more than 27 degrees of headroom before the fan comes on, but never had any problems with the F4i and ran it almost 15,000 miles so don't expect any problems on this bike either.

Noticed on the 1000RR you can't hear the fans as loud as the ones on the F4i. But it still blows blazing hot air on the insides of yer legs [:@]

Yup! What everyone has said!

Its funny that cbrcowboy mentioned the fan noise on the f4i. The f4i has a super loud fan compaired to the 1k. When I switchedfrom the f4i to the 1k, I thought my fan was not working lol... I don't even notice when its kicking on unless I am looking for it.

Hey everyone I am a new member to the site and my name is Brett, I am 15 and have been riding since I was 4 years old. I have a 2001 CBR 600F4iand I am not very fimiliar with the temps. But today when I was riding at about 75MPH it was about 190F but going throught the center of town at about 40MPHit got all the way up to 230F. On my way home I thought it was overheating so I brought it home, on the way back it cooled down to about 225F. I checked my radiator when I got home and it was all good looking and full. Was there a problem or is this normal. Please reply ASAP. Thankyou

Could you hear the fan running?

I had seen 230 a couple times on the f4i, but not very often. It usually ran at about the same temp as the 1krr, 180-225 range. But it has gotten up over 230 once or twice, usually during rush hour traffic.

I would just keep monitoring it, make sure your fan is kicking on when it is supposed to.

seems a tad bit warm for a bike rolling down the road and not at a standstill. I dunno, just my 2 cents
