Default Need some advise

Hey guys,

found a good deal on a local bike has a major issue though.. his add states this below

"Bike is rideable but it does have a miss to it. After inspecting the bike I know that its only running off of 3 out of the 4 cylinders. Spark seems fine so I think the cylinder head needs some work done. Does not overheat or knock. Just has a miss to it. I think some resurfacing to the heads and valves will cure the problem."

does this sound like a major internal problem or something that is worth fixing.. the bike is an 04 i do not know the milage but it looks to be in decent shape and hes asking somewhere around 3 to 4k range
any help would be greatly appriciated

thanks

Man personally I would steer clear of that. Anytime you get into a bike that is having a problem like that there is a lot more going on then you are being told.

+1 to that. If it was worth it to fix, he would probably fix it first and then sell it. I wouldn't even consider it.

im not one to shy away from a project but this one makes even me step back. if you are truly interested take it to a professional mechanic before you buy it and have it examined. cause this guy might be an idiot and it just has a fouled plug or something easy and he is thinking worse case scenario

I would stay away from this one. You can find a bike w/o that problem(s) for the same price. Could be a simple fix, or you could end up with someone elses lemon with no way to make lemonade.

Not so sure I would want a bike that was owned by someone like that though either, lol

Try talking the price down. If he goes for it then part the bi@tch out.

I'd steer clear too. If he is talking about internal engine work... theres a good chance there is something he knows that he is not telling you. Normally, a miss would be related to spark plug or faulty injector. that would be my first impression..his is internal engine work? Hes hiding something.
