need help please
So I just got my new stands and spools in the mail. Took me about 30 minutes to put the stands together and then I headed out to put the spools on the bike. The right on got in just fine but the left one is messed up. So I need you guys to help me out on this a little.
I dropped the bike last season and apparently it scratched the swingarm where I am supposed to screw in the spool. I mean how f***ed up is that! It's a minor scratch but it's preventing me from screwing in the bolt for the spool. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this problem except for using getting a swingarm stand. Thanks

I would get a tap and die set. Tap the thread with the same size thread pitch it already has. This will help clean up that first thread that is messed up.
Another thing that you can try is to take a bolt the same size but longer than the spools. Run the bolt in from the backside of where the spools mount up. Make sure you run it all the way through to where you can see the end of the bolt past the face of the mount.
If the bolt starts to bind up, back it off a little and spray some wd-40 or thread lube on it. If you are either tapping it or running it through with another bolt, take it easy. For every full turn, back it out a 1/2 - 3/4 turn to release any shavings you might get. Since you are just cleaning up the threads you shouldnt get any shavings, but this is good practice whenever your cutting or cleaning up threads.
Good luck. Hope this helps.
