Honda recommends changing the brake/clutch fluid every two years. You're wasting money and time by changing it now. Oh and the clutch fluid is not SUPPOSED to be black. Mine was black when I first purchased mine so I flushed it out with fresh DOT 4 brake fluid and it has been a nice amber brown color for the last 13,000 miles now. Typically when brake fluid discolors like that it indicates moisture has seeped into the fluid and the nature of brake fluid is that itmixes with the moisture instead of separating like oil, causing it to discolor.

My clutch fluid looks more like a Guinness ExtraStout rather than a Starbucks Espresso Dark Roast Blend.

wierd, i read that it turns black because of the rubber clutch line.

Nah, think about all the older bikes that had rubber brake hoses...the fluid didn't get black in those bikes.

heat from the boiling of the break fluid and rubber hoses[ allows lower boiling point of brake fluid] causes this- use better fluid [ higher boiling point] and braded ss lines- fluid is cleaner so much longer-phil
