My first 1/4 mile
I went to the track yesterday and it was almost vacant because it was windy and it looked like it was going to rain. I decided I would go ahead and make a run for the first time. My best run (out of 3) was 10.947 seconds at 132.39 mph. My friend to the left of me ,also on a 1000RR, ran a 10.552 at 136.9mph.
I guess I did okay since it was my first time doing this sort of thing, but I was wondering what you thought. Do you remember your first time at the track? What kind of times are you posting now?

Nice... I was thinking about going to the strip and seeing what I can do. I use to go all the time and drag my cars, but I have yet to take the bike. Since it is a far ride to get the the strip! Atleast I now know what I am expecting and shooting for!
im shooting for mid-low 10's next time i go out.. i know the bike is capable.. but this is my 1st bike ever... and i babied it taking off pretty good... i dam sure dont wanna bike im paying 200 a month on sitting in the garage wrecked... .
I agree! I will admit - I was nervous! I know it is only a straight line, but after the race my hand was shaking like i just rode my first wheelie. Unfortunately, it is an hour away and its all interstate; none-the-less, I cant wait to go agan!
My first day at the track i got mine down to 10.4 139mph and 1.7 60 ft. My bike is slammed to the ground with a custom lowering link that i made and an air shifter. I was actually really disappointed with the performance. I was hoping that i would be able to hang with the gixr 1000 but no luck. They are running high 9's stock.
One thing I have figured out is that the time is greatly dependant on the rider. A friend of mine has an 06 1KRR with a yosh pipe and a power commander (no other mods) and he has ran a 9.98 1/4 mile. I personally would be very happy with a 10.4
