My 06' 1000rr break in schedule
This will be my expected moto break in. Word of advise, pick an oil & viscosity & stick to it. Changing oil brands & viscocities is bad for your bike. I'm a believer in synthetic oil so I will be using Mobil 1 15w50 all the way.
MILES: MILEAGE: RPM
0-10 (immediately after purchase) <5-6
+200 200 <6
+250 450 <7
+300 750 <8
+350 1100 <10
+400 1500 OPEN
+1000 2500 OPEN
+1000 3500 OPEN
+1500 5000 (inspect oil after 1500, in order to decide to change
it every 1500 or 1000 miles)
***Call me conservative, but I'd rather be silly than sorry

Ya dude -- more like 500mi on the first change w/filter. Your RPM chart looks like a good way to break in the motor but don't forget to vary engine speed the first 500 miles. You don't want to keep the same RPMs over a long distance.
I use only Mobil 1 15w50 in my bikes and have never regretted it -- but I give it 3000 - 3500 miles between changes. Of course changing it more often won't hurt a thing.

I think that you guys have misread my chart...LOL I will perform an oil change at every line !!! So the first will be at 200, then 450, 750, 1100, 1500, 2500, 3500, 5000.....LOL I m not worried too much about the oil, but a lot of aluminum residue & garbage comes out during the first few oil changes. Here's a link to explain it all.

Also, I've read alot about the subject & based on my previous experience (for I used to ride hard), I will not let it pass 1000-1500 between oil changes (after break in). I do not mind changing oil so often, actualy I enjoy it!!!
Thanks for the feedback.

Actualy, i will use full throtle after 1100 miles & 5 oil changes. But I will never let the bike exceed 1000-1500 miles without an oil change (after break'in). What I'd like to know, why is the 06 cbr 1000RR being realeased in Feb-March 2006? is that normal? Is this when Honda have released it's new bikes in the past? Seems kinda late, don't you think? I'm tired of waiting + I 'm getting phone calls from different salesmen begging me to buy the 05. I love the 05, but why not wait a few more weeks for the 06;in addition, visiting this forum & reading all your comments about your bikes is torturing & making me very impatient LOL.

Thats usually the way, they release the few into shows and bike mag tests to tempt you and show you what there like, but it normally takes until feb at least before they actually hit the showrooms.

-- was watching "Thunderball" with my kids the other day and that scene with the bike that's got rockets just makes me green with envy.
