just a little help...???

Default just a little help...???

i got my bike shipped to where i live now ... (have to travel over seas cuz of my job) well the bike will take 3 week till it arrives at the country where im .. ( egypt) any advice from u guys b4 starting my bike regarding that it had not been started for 21 days..do i need to check any thing ...? and is it bad to ship the bike on ship..... the shipping company told me that they wrapped it very well in plastic and it was framed in a wooden box for extra protection.
thanx for any advice in advance.....

You shouldn't have any problems starting it after only 21 days. I would have recommended disconnecting the battery before shipping because batteries slowly drain when hooked up (something's gotta power the clock), but after only 21 days you should be alright. Check tire pressure before you hop on and go riding.

Yep, Zero is right. Check the tire pressure and make sure all the fluids are at the correct levels.

On a side note, I would change the oil sooner than normal on bikes in dustier climates. I live here in New Mexico and we frequently get dust storms that I have to ride in. I usually change my oil every 1500 miles when there are a lot of dust storms in the spring. Just a thought.

ya i noticed those f***in dust here in the air .. man i hate this land .. the air here has lots of dust that u cant even open ur eyes sometime . but the told me here it will end soon and the rest of the year is summer time .. they dont have winter here .. it never rains ... i think i will like that cuz here u can ride ur bike all year long ..

One thing i would do, other than pressure and fluids, is be prepared to go over your bike w/a fine tooth comb when you uncrate it. Won't do you much good to go back after a week tellin em you found s/thing that must have happened in shipping. They might try to rush you along, but don't let em. Some pics before shipping are a good idea too.
