Default Insurance Question?

Okay I went from my 02 954 having pretty cheap insurance to now my 06 1000 and the best full coverage rate I could get was $5,724.00 per year. I have no tickets or accidents on my record and I am 26 yrs old. I live in houston, is anyone else paying these kind of rates???

Check with state farm. I am 32 and have a clean driving record. My yearly is 650 for full coverage on my 07 cbr1000rr. I would give them a call. I also live in Texas (san antonio) so the rates should be close. Ask the state farm agent about getting youin the county mutual motorcyclegroup. They do not advertise this, but you have to own a bike that is greater than 800cc to get in. That generally lowers your payment about 100 to 150 a year.

Around $550 a year with State Farm in PA with full coverage and a $500 deductable. Married, 40 years old, no tickets, no accidentson my '06 1000RR. A note about state farm is that they will only cover motorcycles if you already have another policy with them. They cover all three of my cars, my house and both my motorcylces. My 900RR is about 175 yearly with minimum coverage and also with a $500 deductable.

That $5700 per year quote you have must be a mistake unless your getting some pretty serious coverage for it. I didn't even pay close to that when I was a brand new driver and 16 years old.

i just went from a 02 954rr to a new 06 1000rr just like you, I checked everywhere and found country insurance to be the best. They will however require you to switch your car over to them as well, they don't just provide insurance for bike only. I am 23 years old, single with a clean record. I pay 430 bucks a year, best deal around. I switched over from statefarm, they quoted me 1100 a year. That 430 a year is with 500 dollar comp/collision and 100/300/100 liability. Give them a call man, good luck and keep us posted.
