I also use simple green. Doesn't leave any residue.

If you keep your wheels decent, you'll only have to use windex. Thats what I did today, just wiped the grime off with windex, didn't even have to use the wheel cleaner. Of course maybe I"m just not throwing that much grease down anymore, who knows.

I am surprised that WD-40 could be used to clean grease on the wheels.

Thanks.

Same here. The WD-40 works wonders on the wheel and chain. Actually, I haven't use chain lube on my bikes in several years. I was tired of all the gunk from the chain lube. The kinda I had was chain wax. It goes on clear but endsup black. Also, I noticed grits of sand from the road stuck to the chain worse also. Which can't be good for it. All, I use to lube them now is WD-40. It keeps them from rusting too. I had 13000 on my 954's chain when I traded it. It still was in great shape.

Go to WD-40 website. There are over 1,000 uses for the 40. Cleaning is one of them. The stuff works miracles on grease, bugs and tar. Lots of people in the Automotive detailing business use it!!!

I use WD-40 under my truck. I hate rust. I normally spray the leaf springs, drive shaft, and axles downevery month or two. I just let it soak in. The truck is 8 years old and everything looks black as coal under it.It hasvirtually no rust.It Really helps when you go to the beach and get near the salt and, also in winter when they cover the roads with sand and salt.....

Just make sure if you get WD40 on your tires or brake pads...to never ride your bike again.
