I'm 5'9", and my 06 1krr felt way too tall for me. Rideable, but not as comfy as the f4i i just sold. Lowered the front 1 1/2 and the back 3", and now fits like a glove. I don't seem to feel any dif in the handleing of it, but i'm sure lots of guys on here will tell you its a bad idea. For me, it was either conform to the bike, or conform it to me. I chose the latter.

The is my first bike too. It's all about control. If you act up the bike will too. And the bike isn't that much taller than a 600. I have 6500 miles on my bike, love cayons, and the freeway ( look @ the sig ). So if I can do it, so can you.[:'(]

You won't be able to put both feet flat. It'll also depend on the boots you wear..but you'll be tip toing a bit. I'm 5'7 and can't put my feet flat...at stoplights I just lean on my left foot with the right on the rear brake.

I suggest checking out the 06/07 gsxr 1000, that's a bike that you CAN probably get closer to putting both feet down comfortably, not to mention the better ergos for us short riders....shorter seat height, shorter reach to bars, higher bars, gel seat...

get on the RR when you get a chance though, and see for yourself.
