Default Front end problem on CBR 1000RR??

Hi fellow CBR riders

I have a great opportunity to buy a CBR 1000RR Repsol edition bike, barely used (couple of months). I really like the bike, especially the Repsol paint job, but I've heard some stories about some front end problem on 1000rr bikes... Some guys said that it starts shaking at high speeds, but it's very strange to me, since I doubt that Honda would overlook that problem...

Also, did you have problems with stator in alternator of the bike? I've seen on www.1000rr.net forum that they have quite a lot of stator failures within the first year of bike usage. Of course, that's not a big deal and it can be just a matter of bad luck, but i wanted to know your experience.

Thanks in advance!

I hope that I'll be a proud owner of Repsol bike in couple of days!

I've had mine up to 152mph on the straight at the track and the bike is rock solid. Bought used and about 650 miles on it so far.

Check the front preload, compression and rebound. I adjusted mine and forgot to adjust the left front compression. During downshifting the front end shook and I couldn't figure out why until I readjusted the suspension. Maybe that will help.

Hi guys, thanks for you comments. I've ridden that repsol bike and I haven't noticed any problems with shacking or such, but couple of my friends (they tried almost every 1 liter bike out there) have told me about that problem... It's great to know that you guys are not experiencing them.

I'll let you know if I bought the bike or not.

Thanks!

I'm italian with 05 cbr 1000 rr fireblade and i've had a problem of stator failure. Honda has changed it in garancy but don't tell this in official communicate.
